Center for Economic and Social Rights Confirms Ignacio Saiz as Executive Director

Statement by the board of directors of the Center for Economic and Social Rights (CESR):

“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ignacio Saiz as the new executive director of the Center for Economic and Social Rights, following six months in the role of acting executive director.

“His appointment comes at a time when the defense of economic, social and cultural rights is more crucial than ever because of the global economic crisis. This is currently a key focus area for CESR as the crisis is both a threat to economic and social rights, and also an opportunity to put these rights at the center of public policy responses.

“The board is delighted to confirm Ignacio Saiz at the leadership of CESR. He brings an exceptional breadth of knowledge and experience in the field of economic and social rights.”
